Why is photography so expensive?

To be honest, it really isn't when you break it down. If you look at other trained professionals, (plumbers, electricians, accountants, etc.) you'll see average billings from $100-$250 an hour for non-weekend work. A typical wedding, with no album, takes us about 35-40 hours of work on average.

From the emails, phone calls and meetings prior to the big day, to scouting your location, 7-9 hours of shooting (which is normally weekend world, editing, cropping and straightening your final images, lab trips, to post-wedding communications and meetings, you're looking at a lot of man hours for one wedding (especially with two photographers as many packages provide). As you can see by the average billing per hour by many other professionals, we're not priced very high. An album adds another 5-30 hours of work depending on the kind and size of album (we average 15-20 hours per album).

So the answer is, no, we are not expensive, however, we are worth every dollar. We will capture your special moment, so you can enjoy it for a life time.

What is a "bridal portrait?"

Bridal portraits have been a long and beloved tradition for any family.  A few weeks before the wedding day, the bride gets a special photo shoot just for her. We pick a day when she can get her hair and makeup done, and the dress is fitted and ready. We choose meaningful locations, or the wedding location itself.  Brides usually bring their moms, and it becomes a special day for both mother and daughter.

Can you tell me about the packages you offer?

We know just how daunting the whole process of wedding planning is so we keep things as simple as possible. We've come up with four art collections that includes those things that we know will make the most of your wedding photography experience.

We understand that you need to invest in that which is most important to you. Just keep in mind that since your photographs and albums are the only things that remain after your wedding day, you might want them to rock. There are no do-overs in wedding photography. If your wedding portraits end up anything less than awesome - they're going to be mediocre for your entire life. And for your children and grandchildren as well. So don't trust such an important historic event to uncle Tom or Sussy down the street who just purchase their first camera. Let us take care of your big day, the right way.

Do you create albums as well?

Yes, we do! Everyone has their own story to tell, and each Album can be customized to tell yours. Our Albums beautifully chronicle your wedding day so you can remember every detail for years to come.

Can I customize the package further?

Engagement portrait sessions, additional hours, photographers, self-portrait studios, guest signing albums, hand finished prints, save-the-date and thank you cards, and a variety of digital products can all be added on an a la carte basis as desired.

What do I need to do to hire you?

Give us a call or stop by our studio. Lets set up a meeting to talk about your dream wedding. Then, we will ask you to signed an agreement and a retainer of 50% are required to reserve the date for you. Dates are filled on a first come-first basis and once a photographer is booked, they're booked. So don't wait. The other 50% will need to be paid in full 45 days before the wedding.
